It's official!

cute puppy
Well, Del Rey has finally spilled the beans, so now I really am allowed to talk about it.

The Sekrit Projekt is a Star Wars novel. I'll be doing 2. They're both set in the Clone Wars era, and connected to the new animated series that's coming out soon. It's a 5-book series in total, and the super spectacular Karen Traviss will be writing the other 3. I'm so lucky to be working with her. It's a bit of a cosmic trip, this, no pun intended. I think I'd be a lost cause if I didn't have her to guide my tottering footsteps.

Gotta tell you, I am having waaaaay too much fun.

While simultaneously having a nervous breakdown.

Stay tuned ...

Ooo! Star Wars! You! Karen Traviss! Those are going to be fantastic books!

I saw 'Star Wars' when it first came out in the cinema for my 26th birthday. Even watching it on dvd I get that 'wow' factor. Having people who can write really good stories doing the books makes me squee with joy like a schoolgirl. This is great news!

Well, Karen's is. I've read the first one, and it's great. I have no idea about mine. I want it to be good, but an author can't tell. All I know for certain is I'm terrified of getting it wrong! *g* Because I know how much the fandom cares, I know how much I care. Which is why I'm all wibbly.

But thanks!

Thanks so much! Sorry not to say that sooner, but said SW novel ate me alive. And now I'm being eaten alive by something else. *g*

I love SW. I love those 6 films, the sweep of character and drama. This is a huge thing for me. I just hope I don't let the fans down ... or Karen T!

I think you must be one of the busiest writers I know ;-)

If you change that to the most insane, I'll agree with you. *g*

You got that right!!!!

In the midst of my madness I've lost track of your launchiness. Hope all swings along brilliantly.

*g* that is great news! *plumps up cushions, and positions them strategically around the computer* That's so you have somewhere soft to fall during the nervous breakdown *hugs*

Awesome! How very cool for you, Karen. Well done. You sure are a busy gal. Remember to come up for air occasionally!
[info]karenmiller wrote:

Heh. Air is over-rated. *g* But do you see now why I had to postpone more sword classes? Not only the time thing, but the tempation of falling onto one pointfirst might have become too tempting. *g*

Thanks!

Congrats, Karen. That rocks. Instead of the 'Sekrit Project' you should now start calling it "The Two Karens' Star Wars Pentalogy"

It does rock. It's cosmic. It's the scariest shit you can imagine. Thanks! *g* And that's a great series title!

So pleased for you. Naturally my husband is going to pester me to buy copies, post it onto you, to make sure you sign it for us....and then somehow bribe you to send it back to us again...

So very happy for you though - excellent news and even more exposure!

K - look, take as much time as you need re the questions. It's exam time next week for me...so there is seriously no rush at all - because I don't have to answer to anyone but myself on the site, I can fit / add your interview in whenever you've done it. Please, I can't stress enough that it should seriously not be a big concern for you!

Love

Liz

HMMMMM. Bookplates....:-)

Congratulations! You'll probably find this amusing. After reading this entry, I wandered into the bathroom and said to Alan, "That woman's absolutely insane." After clarifying which woman I was referring to (I know more that one insane woman, don't ya know), he said, without any further prompting or explanation, "What's she writing now?"
