Prodigal Mage final draft

So I have my brain back again, more or less ... which means it's time to return to The Prodigal Mage and whack it into final submission. I've received some truly spectacular critical feedback, and now I'm feeling almost qualified to do the story justice!

Zokutou wordcounter is down at the moment, but the wonderful folk at Writertopia still have theirs available . I just have to remember how to make it work ...

Old fashioned, non-visual report is 3015 words down out of a projected final wordcount of 170,000.

I'm cutting short the target revised page count today because I have bits and pieces of other business that must be attended to. Once the desk is completely cleared it'll be on for young and old.

Stay tuned ...

And for the day's requisite giggle!

New book! Witches Inc is coming!

You know, it' s crazy. One moment it's Christmas and the next I'm looking up and it's  halfway to April! How did that happen??????

Anyhow -- because it's nearly April, that means it's nearly time for a new book -- in Australia/New Zealand. In this case, the next installment of the Rogue Agent series, Witches Incorporated. US and UK readers will have to wait just a little bit longer, until July. But either way, if you're interested, you can now check out the first chapter on my website.

This was again another fun, fun book to write. Soon I'll be gearing up to tackle the 3rd installment, in which much mayhem ensues. And some fairly startling developments.

In the meantime, here's the first chapter of Witches Incorporated.

Star Wars podcast

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to chat with the great guys from Star Wars Action News, for a podcast about Star Wars and Wild Space. And now it's up, for your listening pleasure. There are two versions, so pick your poison and hopefully have a great time listening to me natter on about one of my great story passions!

Regular version.

Enhanced version.

More Ebook stuff!

Simon Haynes, another of Australia's resident SF authors, is talking about his Hal Spacejock series and how to get it via downloaded Ebook format. Why not wander over to his blog and see what all the excitement is about?

Another TV Verdict

I'm still having a ball writing my weekly columns for TV Verdict. A new one's just gone up, and you can read it here
